How To Make Money On TikTok

First of all, why TikTok?

The fact that you’re reading this probably means you understand the unbelievable opportunity on TikTok right now. The platform is ripe for first-time creators to jump in and grow their account organically with nothing more than good content.

We are seeing TikTok users go from brand new account to over a million followers day after day. Again, all it takes is some consistency and quality content.

Let’s look at some stats:

  • TikTok has around 800 million active users, spread across 155 countries and 75 languages
  • There are currently an estimated 80 Million active TikTok app users in the United States
  • Roughly 40% of the overall TikTok audience is between 16 – 24 years of age

The myth that only kids are on TikTok has been forever busted, which means that the earning potential is on the rise.

So let’s dive into some methods for how you can make money on TikTok.

Affiliate Marketing

For the most part, if you want to make money from your TikTok account, you’re going to have to sell something to bring in revenue.

With Affiliate Marketing, you can sell someone else’s products or services and make a commission on each sale. This method of monetizing your TikTok account is recommended for beginners because all you have to worry about is driving converting traffic to the product you decide to promote.

From there, it is the company’s job to sell the product, manage inventory and shipping, and handle any customer service.

Find A Product to Promote

To get started with affiliate marketing, you’ll need to find a product or service to promote.

Most companies will have their own Affiliate Program that you can join. Another option would be to sign up to a popular affiliate marketplace such as Clickbank or Digistore24, which has a whole catalog of products for you to promote.

So for those of you that may be starting from scratch, set up a free Clickbank account and click the affiliate marketplace tab to start looking at viable products to share with your audience.

The Top 3 Affiliate Marketing Niches are Health, Wealth & Relationships.

So let’s start with the health niche, which we will choose from the list of categories on the left-hand side.

From there, we want to sort the results by Gravity. This will give us a list of the best selling products in the niche.

Next, we want to look for a few things. First, a conversion amount between $25 – $250. This is the sweet spot for aspiring affiliate marketers. Less than $20, it will be hard to make money in the long run, and anything over $250 will require a more advanced sales funnel to actually make the sale.

Second, does the product have recurring commissions? We recommend choosing a product with recurring commissions, which means that the company will pay you a certain amount each month as long as the customer you referred continues to use the product. This is a great way to build up passive income.

Third, we want to make sure there is a helpful Affiliate Page, which will provide you with a ton of useful resources that will help you promote the product.

Since this first product, Exipure, checks all the boxes, let’s continue to use it in this example.

All we need to do now is click promote to get our own unique tracking link that will index any sales we make and ensure we get paid for doing so! Boom, we are well on our way to making money on TikTok!

Promote The Product

Ok so now that we’ve found a product, it’s time to drive traffic to the offer and start making some sales. We are going to do this through the link on our TikTok profile.

In order to enable this link, we need to build our account to 1,000 followers. But don’t worry, this isn’t as hard as it may seem as long as you implement certain tactics in your videos.

It’s time to start creating content to post and grow your account, but how do you know what to create? Here’s where to start.

Look at other creators in your niche and take note of which videos are performing well. Then, all we have to do is recreate those videos with our own twist.

So since we’ve selected a weight loss product, type in something like “lose weight” into the search bar and check out the top-performing videos. Pick a couple that you can recreate and start recording simple variations of that video over and over again.

TikTok growth gurus claim that new creators should post 3 – 5 times a day for optimal results.

With that said, it’s better to post 1 or 2 quality TikTok videos per day than 3 – 5 sub-par posts, so don’t beat yourself up and simply do what you can. With that said, the more you post, the more followers you will gain, and the more traffic you will send to your offer.

The next tactic we can use is to look at some of the more successful accounts in our niche. So let’s find an account with plenty of followers, say 100k or more.

Then use the Sort For TikTok Google Chrome Extension which will sort the creator’s videos by which ones have been viewed the most. Again, recreate these videos over and over until you have one that goes viral.

Finally, the third method for finding useful content to post is through YouTube. Type in something like “How to Lose Weight” into the YouTube Search Bar, then once you get the results, click “Filters” and select “Creative Commons” under the Features column.

These videos are free to download with a simple YouTube video downloader,  at which point you can edit the video into a short and engaging snippet to post on your TikTok account.

So now that you know how to find content to create, get out there are starting posting! Again, this can be done with you in front of the camera on your phone, or you can find some accounts with successful videos that don’t feature any individual, which are called faceless accounts.

The important part here is to stay consistent. TikTok will reward consistency, and the more views you get on your videos, the more direct traffic you will receive through the link on your TikTok profile, which in turn leads to more affiliate sales!

Selling Products

Another method for making money on TikTok is to sell products on the platform.

There are plenty of TikTokers out there that have supplemented the revenue streams of their business by posting engaging videos and demonstrations featuring the products they sell.

Here’s a list of 20 products that sold out due to their popularity on TikTok.

The same strategy applies for selling your own products through the platform. Simply set up your online store with a service like Shopify, then create unique and viral content to publish to your audience.

Again, the more you post and engage with your audience, the faster you will grow and the more money you will make.

There are plenty of cases where businesses are making over a million dollars selling products through TikTok!

Offering Consulting Services

This one is growing in popularity on the platform as more and more businesses adopt TikTok as a viable way to make money like we just talked about.

There are infinite amounts of people on TikTok looking to learn or develop a skill, so why don’t you offer to teach them!

An example of this could be growing on TikTok. Once you use the strategies we talked about earlier in this article to grow your account, start another account offering to help others grow a TikTok account of their own.

Narrow down your sales pitch and create a funnel with a tool like Builderall to collect emails and start a dialogue about how you can help them grow their account.

TikTok Consultants demonstrate their value upfront by developing a simple content strategy for the client, then talking with them about becoming a paid consultant for the brand or business. Any business will be happy to pay you to grow their followers regularly to reach more people.

Sponsored Content

Next, we have brand partnerships and posting sponsored content, which is huge on TikTok.

You may be wondering how many followers you need to be considered a TikTok Influencer. The answer is not as many as you may think.

We’ve all heard of micro-influencers and are now starting to hear about nano-influencers, which have just 10K followers or so. Large brands are focused on selling merchandise, and they are turning to the TikTok creator that they feel aligns with their brand.

Whether by sending out free stuff, or coordinating a full-blown influencer marketing campaign, big brands are turning to TikTok more than ever before.

TikTok Influencers are now able to register on the TikTok Creator Marketplace, which allows brands to search for them in an effort to work out brand deals and sponsored posts, making it much easier to connect with top-paying brands than on other platforms.

If you’re an influencer looking to monetize TikTok and other social media platforms, you can estimate about $20 – $150 per post for micro-influencers and up to $2,000+ for sponsored posts by TikTok creators with upwards of 1 million followers.

Selling Accounts

As TikTok continues to grow, we are seeing more and more people flipping TikTok accounts.

There are people out there that know what it takes to quickly build up an account to a sizeable following, and then they simply auction off the account to affiliate marketers or businesses looking to monetize the following.

So for those of you looking to sell tiktok accounts, here is some general pricing based on the number of followers the account has.

  • 1-10k followers = ~ $100
  • 10-50k followers = ~ $100-$500
  • 50-100k = ~ $500-$1000
  • 100-500k = ~ $1k-5k
  • 500k-1M+ = ~ $1k-30k

If you’re able to stay consistent in posting content that generates loads of video views and followers, it’s certainly viable that you could replace your full time job with income generated from selling these accounts.

TikTok Creator Fund

Finally, TikTok allows its creators to join TikTok’s Creator Fund if they have 10,000 followers and 100,000 authentic video views in the last 30 days. The account must also comply with community guidelines.

However, we’ve found that there are better ways to make money on TikTok, which we’ve covered in this article. Generally, TikTok pays approximately $0.02 – $0.04 per every 1,000 views. So not a whole lot to be made there, but also worth mentioning in the event you build your account to the point where that translates to significant income.

Summary

Anyone can make money on TikTok. We live in a world where anyone can start a business from their cell phone, and TikTok is a great place to start if you can commit yourself to post consistently on the platform.

TikTok videos are going viral every day, with certain creators gaining 100K followers overnight.
